Hey ladies I conceived my 2 year old June baby completely natural. Well now we've been ttc #2 for a year with no success. not myself, but 2 of my co-workers, who had been TTC for 3-5 years respectively. I was put on letrozole and conceived my June baby first time on that. I was just prescribed clomid 50 mg and 1000 mg metformin. Actually, it was my husband that gave me the reference to the Clomid, and I told my co-workers about it, so they got themselves prescriptions for it, the Clomid that is. Also, I have PCOS and metformin is often prescribed to women who have it. Even tho I am not diabetic it's supposed to help regulate my hormones some way. (among other things) and he tells that the Metformin have a nasty habit of (some technical stuff that I don't really understand) 'Retaining' so that it is contra-productive as far as 'loosing weight' is concerned. Tried that same med when going for a second child and got pregnant the first month. and less than 3 months later BOTH were Pregnant, and today have some beautiful 5yr pre-schoolers. I too am depressed I wanted our children to be no more than two years apart but at this rate if we are even successful they'll be 3-4 or more years apart. Which will then trigger ovulation because I don't ovulatethe Metformin is the de-facto Rx of choice when it comes to PCOS treatment. i myself had that condition, and was prescribed the very say (Metformin) advice to reduce my weight. That kiddo is now 7 months:) make sure your doctor follows up wth testing to make sure clomid is doing what it is supposed to because it doesn't always work I took Clomid once to conceive my June baby after trying for a year naturally. Myself, Clomid didn't do the trick (most likely because DH was Stationed overseas at the time), but once he was back, I got pregnant in my 2nd cycle, (NO Medical Assistance) with my today 25M old Danny.metformin is an other story, i thought it was 'Restrictive' usage in Hormone regulatory, but if that is what the MD prescribed, I would assume that it is what suits your circumstances best. Turns out I have pcos that no one caught because my periods appear to be regular. Tried for 9 months naturally but just knew it wouldn't happen (many things were just off). i tried naturally for 10 years to get pregnant and never did I got married and we tried Clomid to my surprise I got pregnant within 2 months on 50 mg first month then 100 mg second month and we had a little boy.. Started metformin, vitex, and progesterone suppositories last October and got pregnant in December. Now we have been trying for a year since he was 1 , on and off of clomid and no luck , I'm super depressed cause I wanted them back to back or a year apart , but any how this month is the first time I boosted my does to 150 mg so let's see fingers crossed that this month it happens. Metformin helps to reduce your testosterone and is great to take with Clomid. I Had to keep taking metformin until I was 12 wks to reduce risk of miscarriage. Clomid is the brand name of clomifene citrate, a commonly used drug used to treat female fertility problems. Clomid blocks the effects of oestrogen on the body, which then causes your body to increase the production of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinising hormone (LH). FSH prepares the eggs in your ovaries for release, and LH triggers the release of one or more mature eggs from your ovaries. Clomid stimulates egg release in around 70% of users. It is thought that up to 20% of pregnancies conceived with the help of Clomid end in miscarriage, but this is a similar rate to those conceived with no help. Clomid is taken orally for five days early in your menstrual cycle. Most women start by taking a low dose of 50mg, this may then be increased in the future. You can take Clomid for up to six menstrual cycles at a time.
Please share all of your birth and pregnancy stories from the feritlity aid clomid. These are the days that the doc talked with me about as the first round did not work at all. I want a safe and healthy pregnancy , but I wouldnt be honest if I didnt say I would LOVE to have more then one. My best friend just had a set of Twin girls and though it has been rough the last four months , it is a wonderful experience as well. I had some side effects the first round such as headaches (real bad the last two days of the clomid pills) Other then that though it didnt seem to effect me at all. Thanks I was on clomid days 1-5 and felt little to no s/e on 150 mg a day. Anyway , I will be taking it days 1-5 or possiably 2-7 . I know this is not a success story , but I am hoping that I will hear some on here so that i can take hope . If anyone else has some advice and some success I would love to hear them . Thank you ~Clomid Success Stories~ I am taking 150 mg clomid starting on Dec. otherwise I will have to wait until it does again . The babies b/g/g had to stay for observation for one week and then came home with me . Then, concieved in January our set of boy/girl twins at 150 mg. My pregnancy was wonderful although tiring and of course I was anxious the entire time, especially with the miscarriage right before concieving them. I have just 2 follies this month so my chances are zero?! But, today I am 6w pregnant and just had my first US yesterday. I dont think I am lucky to be fertile like you and beside 39 without any kids. I took 1 round of Clomid (50mgs days 5-9) last month for the Clomid Challenge Test. gave me a 1% chance of conceiving with my own eggs. What clomid days you had and how much did you take? Clomid is an oral medication commonly used in infertility treatment. All three formulations are thought to work the same. Another trade name from a different pharmaceutical company is Serophene. Clomid is composed of two different forms or isomers. Zuclomiphene is inert and makes up about one third of the total medication. Enclomiphene is the active part and makes up the remaining two thirds. It takes a long time for clomiphene to be cleared by the body. In fact, traces of clomid can be found several weeks later.
